Early Dismissal 1:30 pm (Altered Schedule)

We are pleased to invite parents to South Delta Secondary School’s “Meet the Teacher Night” on the evening of Thursday, September 20th starting at 6:30pm.  At this time parents will have an opportunity to meet their child’s teachers to gain a sense of the curriculum, assessment procedures and activities in each of their courses.  This is an excellent chance for parents to learn something about what’s being taught, how it’s being taught and how it’s being evaluated, and also to get a sense of who that person is who’s working with your child for 100 plus hours throughout the school year!

Please note, that this will not be the time for parents to talk about their individual child with the teacher.

The evening will begin in the theatre with a brief welcome from the school administration.  Student representatives from a variety of SD’s student service groups and clubs will inform the audience about volunteer and fun extra-curricular opportunities for our students.

After this, parents will then follow their child’s Day 1 and Day 2 schedule, spending 8 minutes in the classroom of each of their child’s teachers, with a 4 minute break to move between each class.  Student volunteers will be available to assist parents in finding their way to the classrooms.  At approximately 8:15pm parents will return to the theatre for a demonstration of how to log in to Parent Connect, an important tool with which parents can track their child’s assignment completion.  The evening will end at approximately 8:30pm.
