English 12 – Grad Write-Ups / Baby Photos
It’s that time of year – yearbook production is going full steam ahead and we need your grad write-up and digital baby photo.
YOUR DOCUMENT MUST BE TITLED IN THE FOLLOWING WAY:
‘Last name, First name ’ and be saved as a word document then attached to an email sent to your English teacher.
While there is no rigid formula for your write-up, there are some approaches that will stand the test of time. They usually include a variation of a few select ingredients:
- Maybe start by thanking the folks who supported you through your SDSS journey.
- Move on to the memories or moments that have meant the most to you.
- Perhaps conclude with a comment on the future, or a truth about the human experience or a quote you find meaningful.

Heather McNamarra
Well we did it; these past five years have been such a good experience. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my parents and friends. Thank you Mom and Dad for always supporting me in every way. Carmen and Alex, I don’t know what I would have done without you guys, you made so many decisions for me when I couldn’t decide. To all my friends, it has been one heck of a good time, from all the crazy weekend nights to all the dreadful Monday mornings and everything in between. Grad 2015, good luck in the future. It’s been a good one.

High school is going to be the fastest five years of your life. It will be filled with every emotion and every awkward situation imaginable. But damn if it isn’t going to be the best five years yet. Make sure you enjoy these years, where all you have to focus on is being a kid, because you only go through high school once. After high school, it’s a whole different story. Thanks to everyone who was a part of my five years here, everyone who helped to make my time count. Now remember if you can read this you’re already in high school – start enjoying it.
YOUR BABY PHOTO MUST BE SAVED AS A ‘jpg’ FILE ATTACHED TO AN EMAIL. IF YOU ARE INCLUDING A PET PHOTO, IT MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE SAME EMAIL AND FORMATTED THE SAME WAY.
-If you have a hard copy of your photo: scan it or take a digital photo of the photo
-Name your jpg. last name first!
DO NOT WRITE YOUR GRAD WRITE-UP IN THE BODY OF AN EMAIL!!!
- The length must not exceed 100 words (unless you don’t mind having your words abruptly cut off.)
- Your write-up will be vetted by the Yearbook Committee.
- Abbreviations, poor language, codes etc. will be removed.
