Schedule Change – SDSS Modified Schedule for the Week of April 14-17

During the week of April 14^th to 17^th, classes for students in grades 10, 11, & 12 will be cancelled to provide time, facilities (computer labs), and staff necessary to administer the two ministry assessments (Numeracy and Literacy), Capstone Presentations (for all grade 12 students), and the Grade 11 English Cross-grade Exam. Parents may recognize that in past years, these assessments have been scheduled in June.

We have more than 300 Grade 10s who need to complete the two provincial assessments. Grade 11s and 12s also have the option to re-write the Numeracy Assessment. And we have 300 Grade 12s who must present their final Capstone project.

The modified schedule will allow South Delta students the opportunity to focus on doing their best to meet these important graduation requirements.

Students in grades 8 and 9 will follow the regular schedule, however the bell schedule will be adjusted and Flex Time will be cancelled for the week.

Notes:

• Grades 8 and 9 follow the regular block schedule (without Flex)
• No regular classes for grades 10-12 during the week of April 14-17^th
• Gr 10 students will be assigned to specific assessment sessions
• Gr 11 & 12 students should sign up for the Numeracy Assessment in the office
• Gr 12 students must sign up for a Capstone Presentation appointment in the office
